Your CaptainCaptain Bryan (Bud) Winn
Captain Bud has been fishing since he was old enough to hold a fishing pole and has spent countless hours on the water. With nearly a decade of Lake Michigan experience, he has won multiple tournaments and taken many top 10 finishes as well. He began fishing the port of Muskegon as a first mate on a charter boat and fell in love with trolling Lake Michigan as so many of us do. After a few years of being a first mate, it was time for him to move on and buy his own boat. He moved to the port of South Haven as it was closer to his hometown and began learning from the local captains all about this new port and where the fish tend to roam toward the south end of the lake. In 2019 Captain Bud obtained his USCG Master 25 Ton Captain’s license and began running charters on some of the local captain’s boats. He fell in love with the 31 ft Open Tiara and had to have one of his own. In 2021 that dream came true and he has been continuing to hone his craft every day that he’s on the water to make your trip that much more fun and exciting. |

The Boat
31 ft. Tiara Open
Tiara is a name synonymous with royalty and for good reason. The Tiara Open series is widely regarded as one of the best fishing platforms on the great lakes and once you fish with us, you’ll know that the “Born 2 Winn” is no exception. Built just up the road in Holland, Michigan, this 31 ft beauty has spent it’s whole life in the great lakes and the “Born 2 Winn” stickers on the back have been the last thing that many, many fish have seen as they’ve been raised over the back of the boat. The Born 2 Winn is equipped with state of the art electronics including Furuno Sonar/GPS, Wireless Radar, and a Raymarine autopilot to keep us headed straight and on track. At the back of the boat you’ll find 3 Cannon Downriggers, and throughout the gunnels and arch, you’ll find Traxstech adjustable rod holders that allow us to run 15+ lines daily. The top-of-the-line equipment doesn’t stop there. We employ all Shimano Tekota reels, a mixture of Shimano and Okuma rods, and all the top lines and baits in the industry. The boat undergoes rigorous inspection by the Michigan DNR to ensure that it is seaworthy and has all the necessary safety equipment to keep everyone safe on the water. There is a fully functional bathroom on board should you need it at any time throughout the trip. For early spring and fall fishing there is a full enclosure with drop curtains to keep you and your belongings warm and dry.
